Most importantly, a proper installation ensures that installers and occupants remain safe. Here the old, rusted EMT was replaced with PVC and new outlets rated for the location.

Parts fail, components wear out and the design and installation does not always meet the utilization requirements. When electrical connections fail, one of the most noticeable results is heat. This can damage not only the outlet and the equipment connected to it, but also the circuits and systems that are providing power to the location. This receptacle needed to be replaced, as well as the wiring connected to it, and the equipment cord and connector. GFCI protection was added to meet the requirements of the application.
